The Premier Leagues most used substitute was in trouble again yesterday only weeks after being bailed for an alleged assault. He was arrested last night on suspision of drink driving and people are complaining Andy Carroll has gone off the rails!

A fortnight ago the London-born player was arrested on suspicion of assault after a 33-year-old was found unconscious outside a pub in Newcastle city centre. He was bailed later.

He didn’t manage to get a Premier League goal last season however did score in United’s 4-3 triumph away to Chelsea in the League cup. He has spent time at a young offenders institute and although the boy does have talent no doubt it is not becoming clear why he was released by Southampton.

Newcastle seem reluctant to let him go out on a loan deal yet don’t seem to want to involve him in the sides first team plans but if the plan is to keep an eye on him they are not doing so to a great effect. His career is on the slip it will be interesting to see if he can get it back on track.
